Overview Bandos, a beautiful coral island located in North Malé’ Atoll, about 7 kilometres from Malé International Airport and the capital Malé, is covered with lush tropical vegetation, numerous palm trees, surrounded by a wide sandy beach and the crystal clear waters of an azure lagoon. The island owns one of the best house reefs, just 40 - 60 metres away from the beach. A major reconstruction project successfully completed in 2005 has brought a trendy new look to Bandos. Front desk, lobby areas, shops, all the restaurants, bars, and a new swimming pool have been rebuilt with the state of the art architectural designs blending perfectly with the tropical surrounding and maintaining the “local feel”. Rooms on the northern side of the island have been replaced by elegantly designed individual loft type Beach Villas with the most modern facilities and amenities.

Standard Rooms - A total 103 Standard Rooms, conveniently located on the southern side of the island are all beach-fronted and in blocks of four rooms adjacent to each other. Deluxe Rooms - 48 Junior Suites are all beach-fronted and in blocks of two rooms each with inter-connecting doors and are more spacious with sitting/living area. Junior Suites are also ideal for families with small children as well as for the wheelchair-bound guests. Garden Villas - All 12 Garden Villas are located in the middle of the island, facing the landscaped gardens and the newly built swimming pool. These are full wooden chalets with private patio and are elegantly furnished. Jacuzzi Beach Villas - The 48 Jacuzzi Beach Villas have been newly built in 2005 on the northern side of the island, with most modern facilities and amenities, yet blending in well with the tropical surroundings. Designed in loft type individual units with living room, bathroom, and Jacuzzi on the ground floor and the bed room is located on upstairs with a private balcony overlooking the azure lagoon. Facilities include: king size bed, mini bar, International Direct Dial telephone, air-condition, beach bed with beach chair, bathroom with separate shower, hot & cold water, hair dryer, satellite television, tea/coffee making facilities and electronic safety deposit box.
Exclusive Water Villas: The 2 exclusive Water Villas built in 2005, on stilts over the azure lagoon, are the first of its kind to be built on Bandos. These two luxurious and spacious Villas are designed with utmost care in ensuring comfort and privacy for its residents. A spacious living room gives you the breathtaking ocean view, leading to the large private sundeck with sun loungers. In Bandos Dine with style in the newly built and elegantly designed fine dining restaurant - Harbour Grill. Here you will have options of dining either in air-conditioned comfort or while enjoying the cool breeze and the breathtaking scenery on the open air over water deck. Harbour Grill specialises in presenting you with the best of Maldivian fish, a large variety of seafood, home-made pasta and a selection of tender steaks char grilled to your taste. The silver light of the moon, the most delicious food and our warm and friendly staff make it one of the most memorable moments of your holiday.
Gallery Restaurant
The main restaurant of Bandos Island Resort is open for breakfast, lunch and dinner and specialises in catering for guests whose holiday package includes meals - yet is open to all the guests. Package holidaymakers, however, are not restricted to one restaurant, but are welcome to eat either at the Coffee shop or the Harbour Grill with a discount.
Sea Breeze Coffee Shop
In Bandos True to its name, Sea Breeze Café has been newly built right at the edge of the water with an open air over water deck and an amazing view of the sea. It is open 24 hours and offers from snacks to A La Carte Menu, ranging from Spaghetti Bolognaise, a variety of pizza to authentic Indian Curry.
Sand Bar
Bandos Right at the water’s edge is our Sand Bar, reconstructed with modern equipments and the state of designs blending well with its name and surround. It is the main bar and is open from 0730hrs until the last satisfied customer leaves. Enjoy the exotic atmosphere barefoot on the sand floor sipping a tropical drink from our wide selection. Our live band invites you to listen or dance the night away, try Karaoke or dance to the hot rhythms played by our DJ.
Paradise Bar

Located on the east side of the island, close to our Dive School, is the Sundowners Bar, open daily between 0730hrs to 1930hrs. Kids Club
Do you need some time for yourself and want to leave your children in capable hands? Our baby-sitting and child minding facilities on Bandos Island Resort are reliable with caring, qualified and efficient staff. The Child Care Centre, the Kids Club, situated inside the Sports Complex, is open from 0800 to 1700hrs, free of charge. The staff of Kids Club can provide baby-sitting services for free between 0900hrs to 1700hrs, and after 1700hrs for a small supplement. The Kids Club is equipped with a nursery full of toys, and a large playground outside.

The Salon Bandos, situated at the Sports Complex, provides professional expertise in helping you look your best while having the time of your life. Our newly opened jewellery shop, Demas, is a branch of the famous Damas jewllery stores located in 25 countries all over the world. It offers you only the finest gems and precious stones. The diamonds are from South Africa and the pearls from Japan. Other gems and stones are from Spain, Burma, Tahiti, Columbia and Sri Lanka. The designs are from Italy. The Bandos Convention Centre offers numerous facilities, modern equipment, and experienced staff who has already hosted several international conferences with exceptional success.
The Convention Centre consists of a Conference Hall, 3 meeting rooms, 2 administrative offices and a VIP lounge. You can choose between the following types of seating: Banquet, Boardroom, Classroom, Theatre and Conference. Please refer to our floor plans for further details and illustration. The Conference Hall can seat 450 delegates theatre style, and 150 banquet style. It also offers you 6 multi-lingual translation booths. The administrative offices are equipped with modern office equipment. The VIP lounge is luxuriously furnished and thus the right environment to entertain guests of any stature or importance.
Business Centre
Our Business Centre is equipped with IDD telephone, Internet access, E-mail services, facsimile, computer with printer, typewriter and photocopier. The Business Centre’s secretary will assist you in all secretarial work.
Medical Centre
The Bandos Medical Centre, established in 1993, made divers in all parts of the Maldives heave a sigh of relief at the increased dive security.
Our Medical Centre has the support of Germany’s leading dive physicians and has experienced and well-qualified doctors on standby 24hrs a day. The medical team at the Centre includes a General Physician, a Diving Medical Officer, a hyperbaric nurse, a hyperbaric technician and a nurse.
The Decompression Chamber at the Bandos Medical Centre can accommodate 4 patients in the main chamber and 2 more in the entrance lock. The Decompression Chamber is equipped with Scott BIBS systems and a patient monitoring system which includes taking ECGs, respiration and temperature readings. The Chamber also provides special accommodation facilities for paralysed patients and contains an automatic hyperbaric respirator, which contributes to the intensive care facilities available at the Bandos Medical Centre.

There is no better way to explore this fascinating new world of colourful marine life than to Scuba Dive or simply snorkel in the safe confines waters of our lagoon or along the reef slope of our House Reef, which considered one of the best in the North Male’ Atoll.

Our friendly and professional staff will give you advice on where to go and what to see, as well as on all safety aspects.
Dive School - Dive Bandos, a member of the PADI International Resort Association, is a well equipped dive centre. Our newly built centre is the most modern facility in the Maldives. It features a spacious reception with a library, 2 air-conditioned classrooms with AV equipment, restrooms and hot water showers, 2 spacious equipment storage rooms and the Sundowner Bar, where you can enjoy a beautiful sunset after a good day’s diving.
3 modern Bauer Compressors with a total capacity of 1200 l/min supply 200 aluminium tanks filled with DIN/INT valves. Our top brand equipment comprises 150 sets of snorkel equipment (Mares and Technisub), 75 Spiro and Scubapro regulators (all fitted with Octopus, depth and pressure gauge), 75 Seaquest jacket, 90 wetsuits and Aladin dive computers, Hartenberger dive lights, Sea & Sea MX 10 UW cameras in sufficient numbers. A well-equipped workshop for basic maintenance and service is at your disposal.
Dive Bandos has a fleet of up to 4 modern, spacious fibre glass dhonis, all equipped with life vests, First Aid equipment, DAN Oxygen kits and radio to enable communication with the dive centre and the island. Additionally all boats are equipped with comfortable ladders for easy entry into the boat as well as various float lines to assist you in currents. The experienced and well-trained boat crew is always ready to help you in any way they can. All our staff is regularly trained in Medic First Aid and CPR. In all emergencies our Medical Clinic with Decompression Chamber is at your disposal. While diving with us, all divers are covered with a complementary DAN Maldives insurance against dive accidents requiring chamber treatment.
For the certified diver we offer a wide range of options, such as guided House Reef dives, half-day boat excursions, full-day excursions and night dives at the House Reef. For the experienced diver we also offer unlimited diving on our easily accessible House Reef 24 hours a day.

Bandos House Reef- Our House Reef, considered by many as one of the best in North Male’ Atoll, offers you a healthy fish population, which includes over a dozen black and white tipped reef sharks, several turtles, schools of yellow snappers and batfish, oriental sweetlips, lionfish, lionfish, groupers, soldierfish, moray eels and lobsters. Our divers regularly see eagle rays, stingrays and small mantas. A small wreck offers an additional attraction right in front of the dive centre. Our three marked entries, which are not affected by the changing tides, allow easy and safe access. For the experienced diver, we offer a shuttle service free of charge to Bandos Rock, a part of the House Reef, which is often visited by neighbouring dive centres.
